Meeting to Determine the 2015 UMP Continued Today

The meeting held on Wednesday (11/12) to determine the 2015 Province Minimum Wage (UMP) was still not resulting agreement. This is because the labors are still demanding for the 2015 UMP to be set on Rp 3,574,178.36. As a result, there is no recommendation yet from Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department that can be given to Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama.

The meeting went hours without any decision, quite difficult. But, it will be continued today

“Yes there is no agreement yet in the meeting that was held yesterday. The meeting went hours without any decision, quite difficult. But, it will be continued today,” stated Head of Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department, Priyono, Thursday (11/13).

Meanwhile, Wage Council Member from of the element of entrepreneurs, Sarman Simanjorang, stressed that his party remains persistent on the 2015 UMP in the amount of Rp 2,538,174.31, which is equivalent to the value of standard cost of living (KHL). If there was addition in accordance to article 88 verse 4 of Law No. 13 on Employment and article 3 verse 1 of Manpower and Transmigration Minister Regulation No. 7/2013 about Minimum Wage, it concerns on economic growth.

Basuki Optimistic Flood will Recede Quickly

“Since the formula is not yet met, the wage council meeting held day and night yesterday was still could not decide the amount of the 2015 UMP,” he said.

According to Simanjorang, the labors are demanding for the 2015 UMP in the amount of Rp 3,574,178.36 due to considering the conversion value changes from February to October 2014, which consist of inflation rate, economic growth, living needs in buffer areas, fuel price hike, and compensation on higher transportation costs caused by fuel price hike.
